    Description

    Group of 2 (TWO) Soviet Medals on a Single Brass Suspension Device with TWO Award Certificates for the medals issued to Senior Sergeant Ivan Mikhailov.
    These are GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL medals and documents from 1940s – not replicas or modern re-issues! What you see is what you get, no substitutions! (Our normal return policy applies but we will not replace or exchange an individual medal from this set).
    Here’s what’s included in the group:
    1.
    Medal for Victory over Germany
    , Variation 2 (U-shaped eyelet, single-piece construction)
    ;
    2.
    Medal for Victory over Japan, Variation 2 (U-shaped eyelet, single-piece construction);
    3.
    Award Document for Medal for Victory over Germany, #287405 (Series “Shch”), issued on 12 June 1946;
    4.
    Award Document for Medal for Victory over Japan, #270837 (Series “G”), issued on 24 April 1947.
    The medals are in VERY GOOD condition, showing light tarnish and occasional tiny contact marks but no dents, nicks, scratches or other significant wear. The details of the artwork and inscriptions are extremely well-preserved and crisp. A great amount of the original “gilt” mint luster is still present and bright on recessed areas of both medals. The suspension device is EARLY MODEL in brass, unlike the more common late post-war suspensions in aluminum. The ribbons show only minimal wear, still sound and clean.
    Both documents were issued by the Military Commissariat of the Derzhavinskiy District where the recipient lived after his release from active duty in the military. They show his full name and rank, Sr. Sgt. Ivan Ivanovich Mikhailov; have a stamp of the military commissariat; and are hand-signed by the chief commanding officer (Guards Capt. Glolev signed the Victory over Germany certificate and Maj. Yemelyanov signed the Victory over Japan document). Both award documents are very well preserved and crisp, show no tears or significant wear. There are some mild stains and foxing to the exterior, not too detractive. The internal pages are almost immaculately clean and all the text is clearly legible on both documents.
    To reiterate, both medals and both documents are 100% ORIGINAL, official issues awarded by the Soviet authorities. This documented WW2 Victory group can be a nice addition to any militaria collection!
