"HERO OF SOCIALIST LABOR"
Hero of Socialist Labor - the highest rank in the USSR from 1938 to 1991, the highest level of distinction for their work.
Hero of Socialist Labor and the Regulations on the rank established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet on 27 December 1938 "On establishing the highest distinction - the title of Hero of Socialist Labor." Previously, there was the title of Hero of Labor.
The text of the Regulations read: "Hero of Socialist Labor assigned to persons who, through their outstanding innovative activities particularly in the field of industry, agriculture, transport, trade, scientific discoveries and technological inventions have shown exceptional service to the Soviet state, contributed to the rise of the national economy, science, culture, the growth of the power and glory of the USSR. "According to the Regulation, Hero of Socialist Labor were awarded the Order of Lenin and the Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
