    Description

    Parting with some of my ORS collection...
    Made of solid silver and enamels, including the earlier silver nut. This ORS is of the Type 6, Variation 3, Sub-variation 1. Serial number dates to aprroximately a mid-to-late 1944 award timeframe.
    The medal exhibits tarnish, but the lines are nice and crisp. The reverse exhibits a grainy textured surface, reminiscent of earlier versions. The red enamel is still in nice conditon. However, the enamel on one of the star's arms is slightly discolored, likely due to an old repair.
