    Description

Soviet Order of the Badge of Honor, #
    1147013
    .
This is a GUARANTEED ORIGINAL award made at the Soviet Mint and officially awarded by the Government of the USSR – not a reproduction!
This award is of SUPERB quality! The medallion is made in STERLING SILVER with Gold Plating and high quality “Hot Baked” Enamels; it measures 50.8 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 32.8 mm in width, and weighs 32.1 grams not including the suspension and silver connecting link – well over Troy Ounce. The individual machine-engraved serial number 1147013 indicates that the order was bestowed late in the Brezhnev era, probably in the late-1970s. There is a raised line on the reverse under the serial number, a part of the die.

The letters “CCCP” still have the original gilt finish, although it is partly obscured by the silver patina. Details of the figures of the workers are perfectly preserved and crisp, free of dings or significant scratches, having only a couple of microscopic contact marks that are completely invisible to the naked eye. The reverse is likewise pristine. The order comes on a late Soviet-era suspension device in aluminum. The ribbon is old but clean and perfectly sound.
This beautiful, classy-looking Soviet decoration (not to mention over a Troy Ounce of Sterling Silver!) can be a nice addition to any medal collection!
