    Description

ORIGINAL (NOT a copy/reproduction) signed script (and also a check!) from Jack Haley, best known for his role as the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz. This script is for the movie, "People Are Funny" which was released in 1946.
The script is dated March 16th, 1945. All paper pages, some light blue, most white. Signed by Jack Haley on front in pencil.
Script paper is thin, somewhat age-toned, with some folds, with severe fold on back cover (see photo). There is only one round prong fastener, at top hole, other 2 are missing. Please see photos for overview of condition.
Also included is a signed check by Jack Haley, drawn on his personal account, made out to St. Jude Hospital (Danny Thomas) on Dec. 24, 1966. This must have been his Christmas donation that year. The amount on the check of 0 in 1966 is equivalent to ,800 today! Jack was obviously a generous man.
I was a phone bidder who had the winning bid on this set of items at the Butterfield & Butterfield auction in Los Angeles on February 16th, 1999. It was lot #3795. In the last 2 photos here you will see a photo of the cover of the original auction catalog (NOT included) that I used and also the description in it of this set of memorabilia.
    Script is approximately 8-1/2" x 11"
Very rare to find an original signed script of any movie of a Wizard of Oz actor.
