Description
This scarce (perhaps rare?) medal, or medalet, is dated 1914 and features busts of the leaders of three of the Central Powers during World War I - Austria-Hungary Emperor Franz Josef I, German Kaiser Wilhelm II, and Bulgarian Tsar Ferdinand I(left to right)
on the obverse.
The reverse has images of three soldiers from these nations and a flag, with
the words
VIRIBUS UNITIS 1914
(tr: strength through unity) along the upper rim
.
This item is composed of brass (perhaps copper) and has a diameter of
approximately 17 mm (11/16").
This item is in very fine condition, with fairly light wear, signs of handling, toning, and some soiling, and it is bright.
